Maison Levain makes some of the best sourdough bread in Montreal. Run by Matteo Abella, the bakery was born from his curiosity and desire to elevate the sourdough game—so he took matters into his own hands, pun intended. Maison Levain is a one-stop shop for all things sourdough.

The logo design was inspired by old bakery storefronts: large, hand-drawn sans-serif lettering on glass windows, and the warm, inviting tones of wood and stone. I aimed to create a logo that felt like it belonged in the early 1900s—a time when bakeries were staples of every neighborhood, and the smell of fresh bread could wake up the whole block.
