Happy Tee
This was the first collection I designed for C’est beau, it composed of 5 items and one being an illustration based T-Shirt. This was the first time the brand introduced an in-house illustration based tee.The brand is known for its strong focus on community and I wanted to convey that message within the illustration. I made a few sketches, experimenting with the idea of a group of friends hanging out and enjoying each other’s company. This T-shirt was well received by their fan base and over time it became one of my favorite pieces and, to me, remains a classic.
We had a few ideas for the photoshoot, originally, we wanted to produce it at Concordia University, specifically the design department. The idea was to get a professor and some students dressed in the collection and make it feel collegial as the entire collection that the happy tee is part of is a varsity themed collection. We weren’t able to get the pieces in on time and the semester came to an end but instead we went to another University and conducted the photoshoot there.
